Kumar returns

Five years later Kumar came back to his home town. He bought a large house and opened a large shop. Then he went to see his friend, Guna.

Guna looked well and he looked rich. Guna and Kumar talked about life in the city and they talked about their shops. Then Kumar asked his friend about his piece of iron.

'Do you remember that big piece of iron?' he said. 'I left it with you all those years ago.'

Guna remembered it well. It was still at the back of his shop. But Guna did not want to give it back. Iron was expensive. One day he could get a good price for it.

Guna's smiling face became a sad one. 'Ah, that was a good piece of iron,' he told Kumar. 'I am very sorry, but something happened to it. I kept it in the safest part of my shop. Nobody could take it away from there. But I forgot about the mice.'

'The mice? I don't understand,' said Kumar. 'Did mice take away my piece of iron?'

'They ate it - they ate all of it. I am very sorry. I wanted to buy you a new piece but I could never find a piece as good as that one.'
