CADET Table 2 display
Table 2 lists all the 'out-of-syllabus' word forms that occur in each chapter of a text. Those with a star in front occur for the very first time in the text at that chapter. If a form occurs in the chapter more than once, the number of occurrences is given in square brackets to the right of the form.
This table is useful for making up pre-reading vocabulary study lists -- either to go in the text itself, or into the teachers' notes. It gives a clear idea of the amount of 'revisiting' of 'new' vocabulary that occurs throughout a text, and a comparative idea of the amount of linguistic challenge the text is likely to present the learner: chapters with unusually large, or small, quantities of 'new' vocabulary, may require attention one way or another.
